I want a used BMW but i dont know what kind. help!!!?

So I need a new car. I really like the look of BMWs (convertables), but any sporty looking car would work. I wanna get it used, some where around 2001-2005.. Idk how much I would be willing to spend, maybe around 8-9 thousand?? Please someone help me!
