Tires for a Wrangler LJ?

I want to upgrade the tires on my LJ to something a little more aggressive than the 30x9.5x15 GY GSAs that are on it now. I have the 15x8 stock rims. I'm not lifting until I can afford to upgrade the front axle to a Dana 44, regear everything, and put a nice sized lift on it. I just want some ideas on which tires are good on the road as well as in the mud/rocks. I have heard that Mickey Ts are really soft and wear extremely fast but they clean really well in the mud. I've also heard mixed opinions on the GY MTRs. I will rotate/balance/align as scheduled, I just want to make sure that I'm not overlooking the small name brands that specialize in aggressive tires. Any suggestions/opinions are appreciated.
