What should I do about liking this guy...?

I am 20 and I like this guy who is 17. I live in an 18/16 state so legality is not an issue. We worked together over the summer and I really fell for him. I think he might have had some feelings for me too but I am not sure. I want to tell him but I am not sure if I should cuz I have had a bad experience with telling a guy that I like him. Any advice?
